The brief

Bowker Creek Dental is a family practice on Fort Street in Oak Bay: three dentists, a full hygiene team, and room for more patients. The goal was set on the first call: a steady flow of new patients, with hygiene and both dentists fully booked.

The site and accounts sat with a previous agency, and the brand said “Victoria’s Favourite Dentistry” like any clinic could. What makes this one different is how it treats people: conservative, unhurried, honest about what you need. The brand had to say that, and the site had to bring people in on it.

Quiet, not clinical

Dental marketing shouts: perfect smiles, limited-time offers, state-of-the-art everything. People who are nervous about the dentist don’t believe it. So the voice went the other way. It names real places and real people, says what will happen, and never promises a transformation. The brand guide writes it down as two columns.

We sound like

  • Your appointment is Thursday at 2. Parking is free on Pandora.
  • We’ll numb it first. Tell us when you’re ready.
  • A second opinion is a reasonable thing to ask for.

Not like

  • Unlock the smile you deserve — today only!
  • Our cutting-edge, state-of-the-art facility…
  • Perfect teeth. Zero judgement. Total transformation.

One bridge, five colours

The practice is named for a creek that runs under Victoria, buried for decades and now slowly being opened up again. The mark is the bridge over it: one deck, two arches, a wordmark that stays out of the way. Its stones come loose as a motif, used for quiet dividers.

Cormorant Garamond carries the headlines, with Georgia for reading. Every headline sets one word in green italic, the word that matters. Five colours, and most of the time two: ink on cream.

Twenty-seven pages

Every service, dentist and patient question has its own page, so each one can be found in search and can take an ad click that matches what someone typed. Every “Book this” button now says “Request an appointment”, which is what actually happens, and carries the service into the form so the front desk knows why someone is calling.

The new form stopped asking for date of birth, which the old one collected and emailed around in plain text. Medical detail goes to the phone.

Past the website

The brand goes home with the patient. The ten aftercare handouts, from pain control to post-surgery, were rebuilt in the new type and voice and put on the Patients page, so the sheet you get in the chair is the one you can find again at midnight.

A seasonal bulletin is designed in the same system, ready to go out through the practice’s patient software once it can send custom email.

What it did

The site went live on 13 September 2026. All 45 old addresses redirect to their new pages, a full sweep found no broken links, and the practice’s email kept working through the move. The launch pass took the mobile speed score from 83 to 98, and the main content now loads in 2.0 seconds instead of 4.5.

Five weeks in, Google is showing the practice far more often than it did at the same time last year. The search that sums up the brand, “dentist for anxious patients near me”, is new, and already ranks near the top.

Next: the Google Ads account. An audit found nine dollars in ten going to campaigns that brought in three conversions in three months, and call tracking broken since launch. The tracking is fixed; the rebuilt campaigns go to pages that match the search.
